Everybody's Got A Price?

Spring 1988

You know, The Million Dollar Man was famous for the saying "Everybody's got a price." Well that wasn't exactly true when it came to Elizabeth.

After WrestleMania IV, Randy Savage and Ted DiBiase were involved in a lengthy feud over the WWF Championship. It was no surprise that even chance he could get, Virgil would somehow let his presence be known during the match. Randy had finally had enough of his interference and put up his Championship against Virgil on WWF Superstars. At the time, Virgil was an unproven wrestler having never wrestled a match before on television. Randy quickly found out that Virgil was no slouch, and with DiBiase at ringside, was a definite threat to his title.

DiBiase and Virgil worked well together and had Savage nearly defeated on several occasions. But, as so many of Randy's opponents have done in the past, they took their eye off the ball and went after Elizabeth. With a fist full of cash, Dibiase tried to persuade Elizabeth to leave Savage and join him. In the few minutes that DiBiase and Virgil were distracted, Savage was able to recover and deliver a blow from the top rope. Moments later, Savage's hand was raised in victory over Virgil.
