In the fall of 1996 it was becoming increasingly apparent that Elizabeth no longer wanted to be a member of the Four Horsemen and that her heart was still with Randy Savage. On several occasions, Liz was seen watching Randy's matches from afar.

On this episode of Nitro, Woman and Arn Anderson tried their hardest to get Elizabeth to focus and give her undivided attention to the Horsemen. Elizabeth, however, was too emotionally torn to accompy Anderson to the ring and decided to watch the match from behind the curtain. While Arn and Woman were at ringside, Elizabeth became too emotional to continue watching. She packed her bags and quickly left the arena holding a piece of paper in her hand.

At the end of the show it was revealed that Elizabeth left the arena to join the nWo in their hotel room. Sitting between Hulk Hogan and The Giant, Elizabeth tried to explain her situation to Hogan in an attempt to get out of her contract with the nWo. Hogan said the nWo was the place to be and that he would get her movie roles, etc. Distraught, Elizabeth left the hotel room. While making her way down the hallway, she encountered a livid Randy Savage who was on his way to the nWo's room, presumably to fight. Seeing Liz in the hallway just enraged Savage more. Elizabeth unsuccessfuly tried to explain her situation and again it fell on deaf ears. From this moment on, Elizabeth would become the first and only female member ever in the nWo.
